Fall Fashion – “Fall in Love with Fall”

Hot chocolate. Hoodies. Boots. Sweaters. Bonfires. Fall. Leaves. Scarves. Tea. Crisp Air. Late Nights. Cuddling. Yes, the fall season has arrived!! Ok.. so maybe not yet in Texas where we are still in the high 80s and 90s which may stay this way until October! However, we have had cooler temperatures lately-anything less than 100 degrees is cooler temperatures in my book!lol But yes, the quote above is what we think about when we think about Fall!  So now we can start slowly but surely transition our closets to make room for your fall wardrobe! But WAIT! Don’t get rid of your summer pieces too fast! You can still keep them in rotation for little bit. I will  be discussing fall fashion and how to transition your wardrobe.

To transition your summer into fall wardrobe, the best way to do it is to layer it up! During the day, it can be really hot, and in the evenings, it can cool off a bit and sometimes a bit windy. Laying on top of a cute tank top can give you a chic summer/fall look. I have received this beautiful sheer chiffon duster from MakeMeChic! So what is a duster!? It is basicallya light, loose-fitting long coat. As you walk, it dusts the ground behind you! But obviously as you can see I am pretty tall so my duster does not drag but still gives the same flowy effective. When you layer, remember to keep it simple. You don’t want to over do it with so many layers that it looks like your own clothes are trying to take over your body. A good rule of thumb is no more than 3 layers.

I love this chiffon duster because it is light weight enough for the summer, but there is till some weight to it wear it will give me a little bit of warm in the fall. When you wear pair them with a long sleeve outfit, it can definitely compliment your fall look especially when it is still too hot for boots. So some of you may be wondering why am I calling this a fall transition where this outfit includes white pants! “It’s Labor Day silly you can’t wear white after Labor Day, right? ” WRONG!

So let’s talk about this so-called rule of not wearing white after Labor Day. In short, it does not exist anymore! Labor Day became a federal holiday in 1894 and it was adopted as the mark of the end of the summer season. In the 1950s, some magazines wanted to make it clear that wearing white begins with Memorial Day and ends on Labor Day. Now in days, the fashion world is more relaxed with this idea. It really does not matter what colors you wear or when. Coco Chanel was one of the famous style icons that did not follow the “white after Labor Day” rule and wore white all year long! So bust out those whites in the Fall and Winter period and wear them proud! H&M is where I got my cute white skinny jeans!
