Cape Blazer Trend: “Put on a Blazer & Just Blaze!
Blazers are definitely a fall favorite for me!! There are so many styles of blazers that you can definitely can find one that is unique to your particular style and personality. My favorite type of blazer are cape blazers!! It is basically a blazer where the sleeves are open on the inside creating a cape like action from the back. For me, cape blazers gives such a classy look. You look professional and fashionably at the same time.
I got my cape blazer from Sammy Dress! They are an online store that carries this style of blazers both in black and white. I was debating on getting the white, but because I am spiller (LOL), I chose the black one for now. I do plan on getting awhite one too. The quality of the jacket is good. It is a not heavy, but not super think either and it has a sheen to it. There are no zippers or buttons but with a cape blazer, you really don’t need one. It looks better without one in my opinion. This blazer’s orignal price is $33 but it is on sale now for $17!! What a steal!
I packed my blazer for me weekend trip to Chicago! It was perfect! One reason why I love cape blazers is that during the cooler months where we are layering to stay warm, it is a nice way to have some movement to your wardrobe. If you think about it unless it is spring or summer and we are in flowy dresses and skirts, nothing really moves in the fall/winter seasons. With a cape blazer you can achieve movement very easily whether it is windy or not!
Wearing this in the “windy city” of Chicago, I definitely felt FIERCE walking down the street of Michigan Avenue! I received many compliments on how I styled it as well! My mauve colored high waisted skinny jeans I got from Charlotte Russe. They carry it in different colors online and in-store. I wore the blazer with black bodysuit I got in Italy at H&M. My sunglasses I got from The Sunglass Spot– $5.00, bib necklace from Rocksbox ,watch from JORD Woodwatches and booties I got from Steven Madden! Because we were walking all day, I did switch out my shoes to some cute sandals to give my feet a break.
I think cape blazers is a great piece to transition from Summer to Fall as well! Though there are no sleeves per say, it can still give a bit of warmth from the wind because it acts like a fashionably shawl. As you go into the winter months, there are cape coats that you can find that are thicker and the open sleeve starts lower – mid arm vs at the shoulder as shown in my photos. Sammy Dress also has an iTunes app that you can download as well. I definitely recommend checking out Sammy Dress for your cape blazers! You should definitely get one so you can feel like your are taking over the world as you walk down the streets! I love mine and I am sure you will love your too!
